The British Academy is a language school, situated in Prague 3, which prides itself on the personal and professional approach to teaching languages, more importantly the quality of teachers and the lessons they provide. At the British academy it’s about us giving you exactly what you need to help you gain a fluid progression within your chosen language. We think your learning experience should not only be enjoyable, but also well-structured and professional, with only the highest quality teachers available.
OUR TEACHERS
We employ mainly native speaking teachers, English, German, Spanish, French, Russian and of course Czechs. The selection process for our teachers is a comprehensive round of interviews, focusing not only on their experience but also their personality, flexibility and general outlook towards teaching. Our teachers hold a TEFL or equivalent certification and/or a higher teaching qualification and most have many years’ experience in teaching a foreign language. Once a teacher has accepted a position s/he is continually assessed. Most are permanent or long term members within the Prague community. We do not hire teachers who take Prague as a transfer station to other destinations.
LESSONS
Our language courses/lessons, are available in a wide range of languages, for all levels and ages, and include general language, language for Business, individual lessons for children aged from 6 years, Exam preparation (in English KET, PET, FCE, CAE, BEC Vantage and IELTS), specialized and conversational lessons, all of which can be for groups or individuals and taken at your office, home or at our classrooms. There is no extra charge for teachers travel, provided it is within Prague.
Semester courses run for 15 weeks and are available from January/February to May/June and again from September to January, all taught by native speakers.
LESSONS IN THE COMPANY
As a company specializing in language, we cooperate with many companies within Prague, which provide corporate learning programs for their employees. Learning within the company offers not only general language, but a wide range of specialized language, such as sales and marketing, accounting and finance, hotel management and many more, some lessons deepening managerial skills and all introducing new skills and vocabulary.
Again, lessons can be taught at your offices saving you time, or at one of our classrooms.
